Emily's novel-in-progress, THE NIGHT ROOM, was shortlisted for the Women's Prize Trust/Curtis Brown/Audible 'Discoveries Prize' in May 2023.

Discoveries 2023

May 4th

Longlist

As part of the longlist, Emily will join the 15 other longlistees on a two-week development course facilitated by Charlotte Mendelson.

She will also receive a year's subscription to Audible.

Longlistees are invited to attend the Women's Prize Summer Party in London and the Women's Prize LIVE Festival.

May 11th

Shortlist

As part of the shortlist, Emily receives a six-week course with Curtis Brown Creative, a studio session with Audible for writing and recording for audio, and a mentoring session with a Curtis Brown agent.

June 13th

Women's Prize LIVE

Discoveries writers are additionally offered a place on Cathy Rentzenbrink's 'Mistressclass' at the Women's Prize LIVE Festival, as well as a free 1-to-1 with one of the participating publishing experts.

June 14th

Women's Prize Trust Summer Party

An amazing networking opportunity for all longlisted writers to attend the awards ceremony for the winner of this year's Women's Prize.

June 26th - July 7th

Discoveries Course

A two-week course offered to all 16 longlisted writers. Facilitated by Charlotte Mendelson.

October 23rd

Audible Studio Tour

The shortlist writers toured the Audible studio in London, spoke with sound technicians, voice actors, and directors and learned about the audio book process.
